The East African Ocean Festival Launches with a Splash at English Point Marina!

Mombasa, Kenya, 25th June 2024 – The countdown to the highly anticipated East African Ocean Festival (TEAOF) officially began with a spectacular launch event held today at the picturesque English Point Marina. The event, which gathered key stakeholders, sponsors, media representatives, and ocean enthusiasts, set the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of East Africa’s rich maritime heritage and vibrant coastal culture.

The launch event featured captivating displays of traditional Swahili music and dance, delicious local cuisine, and inspiring speeches from TEAOF organizers and community leaders. The air buzzed with excitement as attendees got a glimpse of the diverse activities and experiences that await at the main festival in October.

A Vision for a Sustainable Future

Mr. Hamisi Mwaguya, the Founding Partner of TEAOF, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the festival’s commitment to “Re-imagining our Waterfronts.” He highlighted the importance of sustainable economic development, environmental stewardship, and community empowerment in creating a brighter future for East Africa’s coastal regions.

“The East African Ocean Festival is not just a three-day event; it’s a year-round movement dedicated to catalyzing positive change,” Mwaguya stated. “We aim to inspire investment, celebrate our oceanic heritage, and champion responsible practices that will benefit our communities for generations to come.”
